In 2020 TB was the 13th leading cause of death globally and Southeast Asia accounted for
43% of all new cases, with almost 500,000 new cases of multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB).
It becomes critical to diagnose and initiate the right treatment, especially for drug-resistant
individuals with TB cannot be treated empirically.

Rapid and comprehensive drug resistance testing is the need of the hour and TB-whole genome testing enables that. It is time to usher in a new era of genotypic drug resistance determination.

In this webinar, Dr. Anchit Bhatnagar will share his experience in treating Tb patients and
adoption of whole-genome sequencing for determining drug resistance.
